Before seeing the movie 'The Woman in Black', I wanted to read the book first.

For those, who don't know the movie yet, watch the trailer below :

Synopsis :

Proud and solitary, Eel Marsh House surveys the windswept reaches of the salt marshes beyond Nine Lives Causeway. Arthur Kipps, a junior solicitor, is summoned to attend the funeral Mrs Alice Drablow, the house's sole inhabitant, unaware of the tragic secrets which lie hidden behind the shuttered windows. It is not until he glimpses a wasted young woman, dressed all in black, at the funeral, that a creeping sense of unease begins to take hold, a feeling deepened by the reluctance of the locals to talk of the woman in black - and her terrible purpose.

Review :

The Woman in Black is not a big book. You can read it in one day. That's what make it the chilliest book. No need to be very big and to be a very long story. These 200 pages are sufficient to scary the reader.A very good ghost story. I liked it, because when you read it, you imagine the story, you see in your head what happened and like all people, we are scared and curious at the same time to discover what will happened next. You can't stop reading until the end, curious to know if it will end in a happy end or not.

I have only one advice : Do not read it before to go to sleep.
